What can I say, John was my favorite Uncle. I remember times when we all went fishing, running around the farm, drinking fresh milk Saturday morning with our peanut butter pancakes. I love the fact that all of us cousins spent so much time together when we were little and he and his sisters were so close. I remember he was always fun. I am proud of his service and his generosity to help anyone and all the years he ran the food pantry in Cameron. If he only had one shirt left in his closet, and you needed one, he would give it to you without hesitation. He loved being around all of us kids, our kids and their kids. I remember big family dinners, on the weekend and he was a great cook. I have many loving memories of my Uncle John. My peace is that he is with his sisters and his parents and they are all finally together. I will continue to miss all of them.

All my love,
Kim Gustason.

When we were young in the 1960's John dated my sister, Paula (now Kyi). While dating he snuck into the apt. one day & took Mom's coffee pot. He came back over later & tried to sell it back to her. It took her a few minutes but she got it and ran him off for a little while. He came back & became her son-in-law. Kyi & he had three wonderful children while together and then parted. He was a good brother-in law to me and son-in-law to Mom. Our kids had good relationships while young. My son remembers his uncle John as a very good man with whom he had many good times when visiting his cousins. I am sorry for your loss & ours as well.
